Producer Information

Chateau Dudon: Established in 1655 by Bernard de Boynet and his son Blaise, since 1988 Evelyne and Michel Alien have been restoring the Chateau and its vineyards. Since 1868 no weedkillers have been applied to the vineyards which have been organically cultivated from 2006. The climate here means the grapes acquire botrytis most years and the organic viticulture restricts the yields to an average of around 20 hectolitres per hectare; lower than most. The enclosed walled vineyard of 11 hectares has mainly Semillon grapes with a little Sauvignon and Muscadelle. In good years the wines are very long lived.
