Producer Information

Chateau Haut Rocher: Jerome de Monteil has now taken over the reins from his brother Jean at this pretty Chateau in St. Etienne de Lisse. The vineyard is made up of 65% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and is picked manually. The Chateau has very good south to south-east slopes which combined with low yields from old vines (average 40 years) give a generous plumpness to this rich wine. Vinification is in temperature controlled stainless steel or concrete tanks. Ageing is in oak barrels for between 12 and 18 months. 50% of the barrels are renewed each year.
